Concrete repairs investigation and remedials
Steve Hold has many years of experience in assessing reinforced concrete structures, both buildings and in the marine environment. This has culminated recently in being part of the PIANC 162 Working Group for the World Navigation Authority putting forward advice for advanced durability for marine reinforced concrete.
Heritage structures, masonry and marine
Steve Hold has also in recent years been involved in a large number of old masonry structures, notably breakwaters in the Channel Islands and sea walls in the south and west of the UK. This experience recently culminated in him being one of the contributors to the CIRIA Guide, republished on Advice for dealing with Old Waterfront Walls.
Building defect diagnosis and advice.
Steve Hold has spent many years of his career enjoying the challenge of investigating structural and building defects in a wide variety of structures and buildings. Specifically; waterproofing problems and assessing cladding defects have required a methodical investigation to provide the conclusions for the problems and how to put them right.
Expert Witness Work
In recent years, as part of the value of his wide ranging experience and number solutions for both investigation and remedial works, he has been asked to provide an expert witness role for a variety of private and government clients in the Forensic field of engineering.
